Last year, I started an agricultural business supplying various vegetables to restaurants in Jakarta. Since it was still new, even though the business was running relatively smoothly, I wondered, "Can it be sustainable ? Is it viable in the long term?"
My sister, who knew I was thinking about this, suggested I join the Good Duck Workshop. At first, I was hesitant, as I wasn't used to attending workshops. workshop like this, but then I got curious because my sister said, "Come on, Tim, just come along. It's great, give it a try!"
And it turns out…it's really good! It turns out that using LEGO® can help us communicate what's on our minds. Sometimes we have a hard time putting it into words, so it might be easier to build the LEGO® first and let our thoughts flow. Once the shape is complete, we can explain what we mean. I think it's a lot easier than just explaining it with words.
It wasn't just the LEGO®, but the instructor was also incredibly helpful, explaining and reaffirming the meaning of our creations. He didn't try to simply provide solutions—instead, the solutions came from within us. In fact, I felt validated by the instructor. This was incredibly meaningful, considering how rarely we feel validated.
Here, I also remembered my previous achievements and learned how to recreate similar ones in the future. In a way , I also learned my next steps. For example, based on my last LEGO® model, I felt I needed to be bolder. In retrospect, my previous achievements were made possible by my willingness to take risks, so I needed to be bolder to achieve better results .
According to me, This workshop is worth a try . We may feel like we know ourselves well enough, but we don't, because we rarely talk to ourselves. We rarely try to find out what we really want, or listen to what we honestly want to say. This workshop might give us the opportunity to chat with ourselves, so we can get to know ourselves more deeply.
