As someone who has worked in the creative industry for quite some time, I find work to be more rewarding if you know your next steps. It might depend on the person, but I'm the type of person who tends to know what I want and how to achieve it. This is reflected in the steps I've taken to build a career in this industry.
When I found out about the Good Duck Workshop, I thought the premise was quite interesting. We're invited to get to know ourselves more deeply, but through a very interactive medium, namely LEGO®. I've never heard of this method before , so I was immediately interested. It's something different, something new. Turns out, once I tried this method, it felt fun and definitely helped. The interpretation is very open-ended , so it can be quite subjective. We will be analyzed through the colors we choose or the shapes we create. It became even more interesting when I saw that the shapes I arranged actually reflected things that had been on my mind for a long time. It really is a creative and interactive way to analyze myself.
At first, I was too preoccupied with expressing what was in my head precisely and clearly with LEGO® bricks. But then the instructor made me realize, "Actually, LEGO® bricks are also there to help you figure out what you really want, so don't think too much about what you want to build. Let the colors and shapes guide you through exploring your thoughts." It may sound far-fetched, but it turns out to be true.
I may not be the one who learned something new about myself, but I'm quite amazed that I was able to express myself through this creative method. What's even more interesting is that the elements in my head—like my goals and experiences—have connected with each other thanks to Good Duck's help. My next steps feel clearer and more achievable. Maybe it's not something I just learned from... this workshop , but it's a pretty unique visual aid to make my thoughts more solid in a colorful and playful way .
If you're looking to better understand yourself mentally and emotionally, and psychological therapy seems intimidating, this could be a great option. The more sensory and engaging LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® method can help you get there.
